About me

Quentin Vagne

I am currently working with Franck Jülicher, Marino Zerial and Ivo Sbalzarini as an ELBE postdoctoral fellow  in the Center for Systems Biology, Dresden, where I study self-organization mechanisms at multiple scales, from the dynamics of active membrane tubes and lumens to the mechanics and organisation of three-dimensional tissues.

Previously I did my PhD at the Curie Institute in Paris, under the supervision of Pierre Sens. I made theoretical models of membrane exchanges between cellular organelles, with a particular focus on the functioning of the Golgi apparatus. My interests cover statistical physics, stochastic processes, self-organization principles and out of equilibrium physics in general. My motivation is to understand how the rich structures and mechanisms observed in biological systems emerge from small fundamental constituents. I am also interested in numerical simulations and object-oriented programming in general. I use simulations and numerical integration to study the dynamics of physical systems.
